Price of a good elevator in NW Missouri,
(Preview)
I live in NW Missouri about 15 miles from the Iowa line. I have found a corn elevator not to far from home. The elevator has a drag on it. It is 50 ft long he says. It's in really good shap. The problem is I dont know what it's worth. Most of them in this area are used as feed bunks. He is asking $1200. -- Edited b...

I'm on You Tube!
(Preview)
Here they are, I finally got them on you tube! I had a great time picking (and this was my first time!) I did notice that the picker had a hard time keeping up with the high population corn, but I feathered the hand clutch on my WD and it went great once I found a good speed. 727 husking bed elevator
(Preview)
I have acquired a NI Uni with a 727 husking bed and it stands pretty tall with elevator attached. In order to truck this, I would like to take the elevator off or let it down considerably. What are some tricks in doing this successfully that others have used? Thanks

Back when I was a UFT dealer, they were still listing a one row corn picker by their Calhoun Manufacturing subsidiary in Georgia as late as 1995. Name That Picker
(Preview)
About ten years ago an old friend gave me a very basic corn picker. This year I finally got time to put it into working condition. As you can see it is very basic just one long husking roller and fan into an auger to the elevator. Leaves a lot of husks but, it sure is better than hand picking the three acres...

I'll have pictures in a day or two, but it went great. I've got an old New Idea#7 one row picker and she worked perfectly. Only problem I could find is that it seemed to chew up the ends a bit on a lot of ears. Anybody else have that problem? Kurt

Uni sales brochures

I have some saved sales brochures for Uni pickers. One is when the 800 series was new (1980?) and another is the gray Uni's of very late 80's to early 90's. I also have newspaper ad clippings on prices of Uni equipment from 90 or 91. How do I go about posting these?

NI325....elevator speed
(Preview)
I have great corn this year. My problem is going slow enough that the corn doesn't build up on the husking bed. It's a New Idea 325 with a 12 roll bed but the elevator can't keep up. I run in 1st gear which is really to slow for the snapper to do it's best . Any suggestions? Thanks!
