If you have someone in your area that works with heavy cloth or leather, they may be able to make you one. I picked one up for mine several years ago from a gentleman in central Iowa that did custom shelling back in the day with several JD No. 6 shellers mounted on trucks. He had an ad in the paper back then, selling spare parts for these shellers (I had a No. 6 at the time). I got some parts I needed and he had a sheller sock in his parts room as well. He had it made locally out of some kind of vinyl-coated canvas-like material. He lived in a little town by the name of Jamaica, IA. I think he had another one of those socks so if there is someone else on here that knows of this gentleman, please post his contact info. He was getting up there in years, though, so it's possible that he has passed on by now.
ok thanks jdtom! i never gave that a thought we got alot of mennonites around here and theres a buggy shop just around the corner hes always working with canvas and stuff he can make seat cushions so im sure he can rig up something!
Would like to get $150. for it, but make me offer and we can work from there.--they are expensive and hard to find. This one is made from the good thick stuff and I think the seams are double sewn. thanks; picker dude
