After the JD 200 and before the 300, what was there?
(Preview)
Did Deere have a rear elevator version of the 200 before the 300 picker? I though I saw some literature for a 200A once that was a 200 with a rear elevator, but I could be wrong.

2M Cornpicker
(Preview)
I have a question about a 2M galvanized cornpicker that I intend on restoring. A few of the corner seams on the elevator are splitting. Is there any trick to welding the galvanized metal, or should I just skip that if it is a hassle and brace the corners with some other metal? My Dad, who used to use it, h...

Shelling in Snow

How well does a sheller do with shelling if their is snow on top of the corn? Would the snow break up enough before it got in the sheller so that it wouldn't fill up everything? I have corn in a pickett crib and might need to shell some corn for feed. It has a fair amount of snow on top already and we might be g...

trying to figure ear corn and cubic feet
(Preview)
Here is what I'm looking at. I found a rectangular shaped crib. It is 72' long, 12' wide, and 12' to the roof trusses. I would just round the ears up from the walls, don't think the roof is made to go to the lid. I know the cubic feet of the building is 3455.6544 ft. I would like to know how many bushels of ear cor...

Does anyone still have standing corn in their area?
(Preview)
Here in east central Indiana, we still have probably about 1/3 of the corn still standing in fields, waiting to dry down. Many farmers were waiting for drydown and also were slowed by wet corn at bins and elevators' ability to handle it. My next door neighbor has 27% moisture corn. Rain yesterday halte...
