Found another picker
(Preview)
I guess it must be my lucky day. I got a call about another mounted picker and went to look at it, turns out I had seen it before. It's a JD 227 that has been shedded on a concrete floor, complete with a 50 sheller. It had been mounted on a late-styled "A" that a friend bought a few years back, the mou...

mounting JD 237 on a late "A"
(Preview)
Hi, I've got a couple of questions about mounting a John Deere 237 on a Late A JD. We had one on a 3020 when I was growing up and I have a chance to buy a "long nose" 237 that has always been shedded and is only a couple miles away. Supposedly all the screens, 1,000rpm drive, etc. are with it for the 30...

Plan "B"
(Preview)
Ok, looking for an alternative to the mounted picker idea. What would be the best picker for my Late-Styled John Deere "B"? Where I'm likely going to be using it is slightly hilly, not too steep but definitely sloping. I like the JD 101, but availability and practicality are kinda slim. Nev...

Looking for manual for JD 4B sheller
(Preview)
Looking for a operators manual for the 4B JD sheller. It was my great grandfathers and I dragged it out of the trees. It needs a bearing and some sheet metal repair but it looks salvagable. Thanks, Dave

Teach me about MM shellers
(Preview)
I've been pickin' corn forever, but know nothing about shellers. I'm going to have to find a sheller, or some way to pick/shell on my farm. The MM shellers really appeal to me (watching them on YouTube), but I know nothing about them. I have no idea what the capacity or characteristics of a D vs E vs 1200...

Snow fence crib
(Preview)
After my corn crib was full I had two wagons of corn left. I put up the snow fence cribs on a hay wagon so I can move them plus they get air from the bottom. My question is, should I cover them or leave them alone. Last year I covered them and some water leaked thru the tarp and the corn molded where it got wet....

As to width
(Preview)
Id say that would depend on where you live. I think I could get by with a much wider crib here in NE Okla, than I could when I lived in NE Kans. I think dads was around 10ft wide, and around 24ft long. Maybe 10ft outer wall. I kinda think he said it could hold 750bu.
