Storing ear corn in wagon


How dry would ear corn need to be for it to keep in a gravity wagon? My crib is full still have more to pick it would stay in th wagons till around feb.

I've had it in a wagon around 18% from Thanksgiving until early Feb and not had problems.  Wagon was left uncovered, parked a dry shed, with the door cracked open.

First, I'm assuming the wagons will be parked inside. I think you will probably be ok, as long as you to do something to keep rodents under control. I wouldn't necessarily cover it either.

Another alternative is to use wooden snow fence to build a temporary "picket" crib. We used to put old tin down for the floor then built the sides up with the rolls of snow fence. I remember we could put it up 3 rolls high, which would hold a fair bit of corn.

Having more corn than crib space is a nice problem to have!

I put some screen in the door before loading my wagon. Then you can open it for the air to circulate.
