My Grandma has been going through old pictures and gave these to me after I bought my first picker. This is my grandpa Jim unloading corn in the crib while my Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Dan help out. My dad would have either just been born or not arrived yet. I believe this picture to be from the '53-'55 range.
That would be a John Deere wagon dump. It was driven off of the tumbling rod that drove the elevator. My Dad had one that I believe was a John Deere, but did NOT have the rockers that allowed the wagon to move back as it was lifted. His was powered with a belt pulley mounted on the input shaft of a car transmission, with the tumbling rod driving the elevator, and another tumbling rod connected to the same shaft on the other side of the elevator that powered the lift. You would engage a clutch which would start the winch to lift the wagon.
Very seldom see pictures of a John Deere wagon dump in operation - thanks for posting them! Looks like an Anthony flare box - my uncle still has the one his dad bought new and used for years. I would like to get it from him someday and restore it. Basically needs a new paint job - the rest of the wagon is in really nice shape since it has always been stored inside.
