Well This weekend I picked up a John Deere 350 elevator with one bid ahead of the scrap man. The bearings were gone out of the back of the hubs so my Dad, a friend and I took it almost completely apart to get it home. Now for the job of repainting it and putting it back togeather. The main thing is it was saved from the torch. The question is has anyone ever had much experiance with one of these as all I have ever been around are the Kelly Ryans. It looks like a good heavy unit, is pto drive and has a large lift cylinder under it rather than cable. Its home now and the adventure is over, now to take on a corn crib sometime here.
Glad to hear you are fixing one up - the ones with the hydraulic truck are not very common! I think they were only available for a year or two, then they figured out that they could accomplish basically the same thing by running the cable winch with an orbit motor.
Thanks i might need some parts, mainly the grain spout but im still looking around here, keep thinking there has to be one just around the corner here some where
Depending on what part of the grain spout you need I probably have one in my parts stash. I'm in SW Minnesota so not terribly far from you. Post some pictures when you get it finished!
