Something different this week - John Deere Wagon Boxes & Hoist brochures

We all enjoy playing with our corn pickers but I think everyone would agree that they wouldn't be as much fun if there wasn't a wagon trailing behind to catch the ears! So I thought I would post one of my favorites this week. Actually, these are 4 separate pieces but they all go together so I wanted to show them that way. First there is a small pamphlet or map-size brochure for the John Deere Wagon Boxes. This brochure has no print date on it which is strange. I think this means that the wagon manufacturer printed the brochure, not John Deere. As you can see, it says on the brochure that these wagon boxes were manufactured by Giant Mfg. of Council Bluffs, IA. The next 2 scans are 2 different price lists for these wagons, one dated Dec. 29, 1967 and the other one dated July 1, 1966. Interesting! The last 4 scans are the brochure for the John Deere 150 Bolster Hoist, which I think you would agree is a very necessary part of any wagon package!

Tom , that is really neat ! I have a 14 ft. box on JD1068 gear that is in very nice shape ! I do not have a set of side boards for it but wish I could find a set !!
These wagons are going for very good money !

Yeah - I've seen very few with factory "tip-tops" (side boards). These wagons aren't very common around here but I've seen a few. Most of them are the 6 x 10 boxes. Is your 14 foot box 6' or 7' wide? If you have some pictures of it, it would be neat to post them here with this thread!

Now you know why this is one of my favorites! I ran across the wagon brochure with the price lists many years ago and didn't think too much about it. In all the literature I have been thru since then I have not run across these items ever again.

This is my JD (Giant mfg for JD) 7X12 on a JD 1065 and a Midwest hoist.  I bought it used in the 80's. Thanks for putting it on here . Don

I didn't know the "tip tops" were a big deal? Right around us there were alot more Hieders. I also have a Hieder 6x10, and a Hieder Flare ,we used to have a Bus Brown barge , i wish I had. Don

Just the ones on a John Deere. The other brands it is more common to have the factory tip-tops (at least around here). Do you have a picture of the Heider flare wagon? All the Heiders around here are barge boxes. The most common flare box around here is the Wards or Nu-Bilt.
