Great seeing a forum about one of the lost arts of Farming Picking Corn

Wow I never thought I would ever trip upon a forum about picking corn. I was looking at all the pictures of your corn pickers and shellers it brings back great memories of my Grandpa picking corn and helping him shell when I was growing up. One of those lost arts of farming. Any body in the eastern Iowa area need someone to help shell just drop me a line. I would love to some weekend.

I guess I should share alittle about myself I am 27 I live in Davenport with my wife and my 1 yr old twin daughters. My Dad farms in NW Iowa in the Alton area. I work for ADM in their corn processing division in Clinton IA. Before ADM I was a dairy herdsman for a number of dairies across Iowa and Illinois. I know I am probably the young buck around here but I do enjoy old Iron and reading all of your posts

I'm 19 also. I love the old stuff. Not alot of younger people like the old stuff. That's why it's up to us to collect this stuff and make sure it doesn't disappear forever.
