Well Cody that just seems to come with the picking is a mess , if it is not filling the crib it comes from cleaning it out ! Or just turn the goat around it let them clean up!LOL
That's True. But it really makes a mess when the corn gets hung up in the wagon when you're unloading it and when you open the door to get it to move it all comes at once.
When we started replacing the hoist wagons in the late 1970's, the gravity wagons we bought were too big for use with the ear corn picker so we just kept the flare wagons to use for ear corn. Once you get used to them and how much to raise them up with the hoist, we didn't make too much of a mess when unloading!
That's what we did when we picked the corn last fall. We put a flarebox behind the picker. After we got done we just switched it all over with my Kewanee 500 elevator.
I like using my gravity wagons they work good with my short elevator in the field. I just unload into my spreader trucks it makes trips less and faster.
i had a metal flatbed wagon that folded up into a gravity bed with just two flat floor sides and an unloading chute in the middle. With the rocking bolster it was the best ear corn wagon i ever used.Alas like many fools i put big sideboards on it and went thru a ditch too fast and it collapsed.One of my biggest regrets. Never seen another wagon like it since after traveling thru 15 states in a semi. boy i wish i had bought another when i had the chance.
