Building a cart need some info.(jdtom,s cart)

I was wandering how long the tounge was? By the way that was a very good idea. I,m sure it makes it alot easyer to put it in the shelter.

The tongue is about 10' 8" long from the axle to the hitch plate. If I was making another one, I would make it about 12' long. When the picker is on the cart, you can't turn real short with it if you are pulling the cart with a tractor because the rear tractor tires will hit the upper end of the first elevators. I usually use a skid loader to maneuver it around the yard and in the shed so it's not a big deal for me. But it sure is handy - I used it just today as I was removing the picker from the tractor for the end of the season. It is sure nice to dismount the gathering unit on a flat concrete pad, back the tractor away from it, and then mount the cart under it. Then I pulled it over to the shop, blew everything off with the air compressor, then pushed it into the corner of the storage shed.
