new idea #10 timing info?


I have a #10 new idea, chain broke, told need to retime can any one tell me how to if need to , don't have manual. thanks.

Hi Jay welcome to the forum.
I was looking at my New Idea #10 operators manual and it shows that the 2 gears on the clearing drum are timed. I attached a couple of photo's for you to look at. I hope that this helps you with your problem.
Also there are alot of very knowledgeable people on this forum, dont be afraid to ask questions. We are here to help with the hobby that we love and enjoy.

Hi Charlie, thanks for the info and pictures, saved this picker from the scrap yard scrap prices are hi right now in mo. alot of old machinery scrapped in the last couple of months, what a shame! found this picker when i borrowed a danasur post driver from a freind of mine that has not been used for along time either. seen the picker asked him if it was for sale he said the chain was broke and he was going to scrap it. then he told me if i could fix it i could have it. now you know my story. plant about 10 acres corn for feed want to go to ear corn to grind plus remember my dad picking ear corn and me shoveling into elevator into corn. crib cant remember no. of john deere picker but was mounted on our john deere 70 had a international picker for our h farmall to,to young to remember that no. thou. need to try to find a manual hard to find thou. thanks again
