I have found several 324's and a 325 that I really would like to buy, but they are all too wide to haul on a deck over trailer. I found a 325 in Michigan (800 miles from me) that I was going to buy, but the guy told me that it was 112" wide. I don't know how I could haul it without wide load placards and a lot of trouble.
How do you guys haul the pull behind corn pickers???? My father in law lives about 50 miles from me and we were going to buy one together so we could each pick a few acres a year. Whatever we buy would have to be moved from my place to his and back yearly.
Now I'm stuck trying to find a 323 that doesn't cost an arm and a leg thats in good shape.
BTW: Anyone that has a 323. Can you measure it and see how wide it is outside to outside of the wheels???
Anyone have a good 323 with husking bed that they want to sell? I'm willing to travel.
I do not see how it could be that wide, they were made to fit between the rear tires on the tractor, and these were used in 38-40 inch rows. If it has the stalk shields to move leaning stalks out of the way of the rear tires, they should be removable. IIRC, the rear tire tread setting was 88-90 inches, centerline to centerline, and when I hauled both my JD 227 and JD 237 home the rear tires(13.6 X 38) hung off the sides of the 8' deck width trailer about 3 inches on each side. I probably could have narrowed up the width a couple of inches by moving the wheels in, and letting the tires rub on the husking boxes, but I didn't even think of it.
