Tristan, There is a guy in my area with a MH selfpropelled picker, I don't know the model #. I'll try to see if I can get him to post on this page. No promises, but I think he will. John

Hello, I have sales literature on the MH self-propelled corn picker and I may have an OP manual. Give me a few days and will see what I find.
Contact me, Bob

I don't know a whole lot about the sp pickers, as I recently just bought mine and am also looking for info.. But if it would help I can try to post some pictures of mine.

I do know that the op manual reprints are available through AGCO (and I think it was reasonable, 20 bucks maybe? I did get an original with my picker, but didn't wanna grease it up, so seemed like a good alternative.)

I was told today on another forum that the MH self propelled picker used New Idea picker parts (gathering units, tin, husking bed parts) Is there anyone that has verified this?

From what I have gathered over the last several years, is the corn head and maybe more was licenced from New Idea. From the looks I wonder if the M&M might also. The picker was designed by Ed and Verne Everett (father and son) who also did the Clipper Combine. A prototype was tested in Illinios in 1941, but was held up until 1946 because of WWII. Mine is a 1953 6 cylinder # 20153 . Don

So I should be able to match some parts to new idea? (provided what I could need wouldn't be obsolete)

I don't know my year.. but if I get my S/N could you tell me what I have? Since I am back in Michigan tonight, I'm about 800 miles closer to my picker than I was the last month (I travel a lot with work..) and I plan to wrench on it some while I'm home, as we seem to have a little break in the cold happening for a few days... I do know I have the later "improved" 6 cylinder model.

Any idea where I could find a water pump? So far no luck through NAPA or my local AGCO dealer. I know it'd be the same as a 44-6 tractor, but all I can find is one for the 44 (with the 4 cylinder 260? Valve in head motors)

Thanks,

Brad
