Kevin had announced that last falls show would be the last one he was going to host. I had a great conversation with him a few weeks before the show. He said his health was not too well and didn't think he would be able to do it anymore. He was hoping someone else would pick it up. I have not heard anything so I will say its is no more.
That was the last time I talked to Kevin. He was a great guy. He put on a great show.
One of my greatest fears is that these kinds of shows will become less and less common. Nothing happening around me like that. I knew a couple guys several years ago that were somewhat interested but they have since passed on.
Dave had posted on Facebook a month or so ago that it is on for the 3rd Saturday in October, the 21st. I haven't heard anything else since, so hopefully it is still as planned.
I also saw on Facebook that the one near Ottuma is also supposed to be the same weekend, but both Saturday and Sunday
That is the correct date for Ottumwa. The date was made before anyone was aware of another show on that date. We would be glad to see as many at Ottumwa as can make it. Mike
The Walnut show will still go on. A good friend of mine
and Kevin Larkey will have a fall harvesting show the last
weekend in September next year (off year of Half Century).
It will be about 20 miles west of Walnut.
Mike, I am looking forward to the show in Ottumwa.
