I own a 2MH

I went to the Red Power Roundup in Union Grove, WI and while there rode up to Manawa, WI to pick up my 2MH.  Found it on Facebook back this winter.  It's been outside for about a year but looks to be sound.  It's missing a few small parts, but overall it looks good!  It's going to be a long term project, as of now I don't even own a tractor it'll fit.  It came off a M and I have all the mounts, so I intend to put a M or Super M back under it.

Over 1000 miles later, safe and sound in NC!

Gee whiz, that was quite a trip! Good job saving another one that was apparently destined for rusting tight or melting down.

I know the feeling! I bought my first JD 237 before I even had a tractor for it. Looks good!

Guys, where is the serial number tag on a 2MH?

I have a feeling its tag is gone, but looking at some of the parts on it, the parts book seems to indicate it's around a '61 model.

Here's a few pics for you Al. I believe the later ones had an actual tag whereas the the earlier ones had a yellow sticker. Didn't even think to write the numbers down to know for sure when I took the pics.

Tag or sticker is on the right hand gathering unit near the sprocket on the upper elevator shaft that drives the husking  bed.

I believe I have seen the remnants of that yellow sticker. I'll look closer tomorrow.
I'll never understand why IH used decals for their serial numbers! My 52R combine is the same way.

thanks!
Al
