Finally got the picker moved home. It's been sitting in a barn for 40 years but it turned with a pipe wrench fairly easy! Bought from the original owner who said he loved the picker and that it left very little corn behind. I got all of the brackets except the bell crank brackets and one of the ram brackets that bolts by the bell crank bracket and the divider mounts that bolt to the front of the tractor. I also need a gathering chain where one sank in the dirt and is pretty rough. I tjink
Congrats on getting your new baby home.I missed out on a lot of them by not having a decent pickup and trailor. Now i think that should be a farmers first purchase.
Congratulations, glad to see another Allis saved. We also bought a 33 from an original owner close to 20 years ago now. Its picked a lot of acres and needs a little attention. We tried picking some corn a couple years ago but with the higher population of corn planted it couldn't move the corn through the machine fast enough.
Congrats on a great purchase! That is a nice looking unit! If you have a salvage yard near you with some WDs in it you might be able to find some brackets. A lot of them got left on the tractors. As grinder said they do not go through the higher populations well. A lot of riding the hand clutch!
I do have some parts machines but am located way up in NE Iowa. I might have some brackets too.
There is one on youtube,I dont know what he did,If it was a newer model or what but he is sailing along .I always thought about making a new gearbox on one and moving it down to 30 inch rows and maybe a trailing husking bed. Just something to play with to see if i could do it. Stranger things have happened.
