Replacing metal cleats in husking roller

Has anyone replaced the metal cleats in the husking rollers on a new idea picker? Most of mine are missing and I found some to replace them with but was wonder how to put them in. I know there are wooden pegs in the husking roller that the cleat goes into but some of the wooden legs are gone how do u keep the wooden peg from falling out?

You should be able to still get new pegs and cleats from AGCO...I know my dad did a few years ago but then updated the 325 gathering unit from 8 roll bed to 12 roll which they were all intact in when purchased however...diligently keeping the machine inside caused the wood pegs to dry out because they weren't exposed to moisture like with the previous owner. I would try soaking pegs in diesel fuel or something of that nature prior to installation to help keep pegs in longer.
