I do not have a JD mtd picker to sell you, but you might get greater possibilities of one to buy if you would tell:

1. what model of JD picker you are looking for (such as 127, 227 or 237)

2. model of tractor you want to put it on, or the type of mounting hardware you would prefer it had, ex., last used on a 60, or a 4020

3. Your general geograhical location you would care to purchase from - ex. WC OH or EC IN., in case you would get response from Arkanasas and you don't want to go that far to get one

Good luck! I thought I would never find one close, but a couple months ago, I found a 237 picker with the right mounting hardware for a 3020 15 miles from home in my price range and a very patient owner to work with.

Preferably a 227 or 237 model and any mounting brackets for a John Deere will work anything from an A all the way up to a 4020. I live in Danville illinois about 25 miles east of rantoul where the 50 years of progress takes place but I am willing to travel for a good quality picker.

I will agree with getting a picker (or any other mounted implement) with the correct mounts, and ALL the attaching hardware, such as sprockets, elevator throw out lever, shields and the like for the specific tractor that YOU want to put it on.

Even tho the JD universal mounts make it easy to put a 227 or 237 on anything from an A on up, just by adjusting the width of the master frame, finding the smaller pieces that will allow it to operate is next to impossible if they have been misplaced or not specifically for that tractor.

As an example, on a JD 226 the elevator attaching brackets on the drawbar support are different between the early and late 'A's. Findng ANY 226 is hard enough, much less one with all the attaching parts that came in the parts bundle for that tractor, and the early 227 mounts with the lift arms for the rockshaft is almost as bad.

I can put it on either 47 or 52 JD A, 48 JD G, JD 60, JD 70, JD 730, JD 3020, JD 4010, or a JD 4020. Any of these tractors would be the few that I would like the picker to mount up to. Also I could put it on a Farmall 450. Thanks for the tips!
