Shelling corn with a JD 43 Sheller

I had a part load of ear corn left that wouldn't fit in the cribs when I picked corn earlier this fall. So I got out my John Deere 43 corn sheller, set it up and shelled the corn on the wagon. Worked great! I sure wouldn't want to shell thousands of bushels like this, though.  I bought this sheller over 10 years ago and had not used it until now.

Hi Tom, that sure would be a lot of work doing it all like that! But it is a good reminder that this is all for fun! Thank you for your pictures and story about you.  I`m new here and have had lots of fun already reading on and about others that have to bug like you!  Keep up the good work and fun.    Kevin Larkey

Nice looking Oliver picker you got there! I'm sure that there are a lot fewer of those around in working condition that the New Idea mounted picker that I have. But like I said before, it's fun to play around with them but I'm sure glad we don't have to harvest all of it like this anymore!
